"God, Our Rock"
"I find rest in God: only He can save me. He is my rock and my salvation. He is my defender: I will not be defeated."
Psalm 62:1-2
Oftentimes we hear one spouse say to the other, "He is my rock" or "She's my rock." What they're really saying is, "He's the one I know I can go to when things around me are in chaos. He's steady. He's reliable.". A rock is unmovable. God is the true "rock" in our lives. He won't budge with circumstances. He won't drift away with heavy winds. He stays rooted. Grounded. Ready to hold our weight when we cling to Him. Today, no matter what your family is going through, look to God, your rock. Picture yourself swimming up, up, up to a cleft where you rest. He's your safety, our defender. What a good God we have!
Father You are our rock. You will not be moved, even when the earth around us is shaking and our lives are in transition. We can count on You, Lord. We run to You, cling to You, and rest in You. Praise You for being there for us through thick and thin. Amen.
